Review of SolidWorks Enterprise PDM
The design release packet is finally in one managed vault, with CAD files and specifications together; version control makes the review less guessy, and secure sharing is useful.
At the approval handoff, the workflow is clear enough to follow, and seeing project progress helps; still, our small group needs real training before I would trust everyone to move through design review, approval, and release the same way (that part is not automatic).
Stakeholders get a better basis to buy in once the shared files and approval steps are visible, though someone still has to learn the vault.
