Review of Appy Pie

Practical review

The platform itself is fairly straightforward to work through, and Appy Pie gives us a practical way to shape a mobile app without needing programming, which matters when I am coordinating input from staff who have very different levels of confidence with new software. The drag and drop approach is easier to explain than starting from a technical brief, although we still need to spend time agreeing what the app should do before everyone feels comfortable moving forward, especially for colleagues who are not very comfortable with technology.

That makes planning feel manageable, though staff still need some guidance before the app is ready for wider use.

For a small team, the appeal is being able to build something suited to our needs and keep people involved in the decisions, rather than expecting a technical person to translate everything for us, and that balance is useful even if it takes discussion to get buy in from people with different priorities around the office in the end.

Review of CheckinAsyst

A calmer front desk!

Our front desk is moving through patient intake more smoothly with CheckinAsyst, because the digital check in lets people complete registration before they arrive or use a tablet in the waiting room, and that is making the whole visit feel less paper heavy for patients while giving staff a clearer path through the steps, which matters in a small office where one confusing handoff can quickly hold things up.

I like that personal and insurance details, consents, and payments can be handled electronically, with information going directly into the EHR, so staff are not repeating as much of the basic registration work. The workflow still takes some explaining to new staff, and I would plan time for training before expecting everyone to feel comfortable. Even so, the simpler arrival experience is easy to show colleagues, patients are less caught in paperwork at the desk, and the change feels practical enough that I am glad we made it.
